Paula brings a strong background in both school-based and clinical settings, having worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, School Social Worker, and School-Based Clinician while also serving as an advocate within the school system. This experience gives her a practical understanding of how emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges intersect in real life—not just on paper.
She works with children, teens, and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, anger, adjustment issues, trauma, and relationship concerns. Utilizing her expertise in mental health therapy, Paula doesn’t take a one-size-fits-all approach—she meets clients where they are and helps them make sense of patterns that feel overwhelming or stuck.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Shannon specializes in providing mental health therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Her focus is on strengthening relationships and helping clients heal from life's challenges through a systemic lens. Guided by Systems Theory, she considers each client within the context of their relationships, environment, and experiences, helping to uncover patterns that shape well-being and connection.
Additionally, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful, evidence-based approach for processing trauma, reducing distress, and fostering resilience. By integrating EMDR with relational and systemic approaches, Shannon creates a safe, supportive environment for clients to reprocess painful experiences while cultivating healthier patterns of interaction and self-understanding.
Her goal is to walk alongside clients with compassion and curiosity, empowering them to break cycles that no longer serve them, restore balance in their relationships, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

“I bring over a decade of real-world experience working with individuals and families across a range of settings, from in-home services through the MYPAC program, psychiatric care at UMMC, to nursing and rehabilitation centers. These experiences have shaped how I approach people - not just a diagnosis. I utilize trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices, but I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy.
My goal is to meet you where you are and help you move forward in a way that actually works for you. I look forward to meeting with you and will feel honored to be a part of your journey.”
