A: Sometimes we just need to vent, and supportive people in our lives play an important role. Therapy goes a step further. It’s not just about talking—it’s about understanding patterns, learning new ways to respond, and making meaningful changes with the guidance of someone trained to help you get there..
A: You might ask about their therapy style, experience, approach to treatment, what sessions typically look like, or how they work with concerns similar to yours. It’s also okay to ask practical questions about scheduling, communication, goals, or what to expect from the therapy process. A good therapist will welcome questions and want you to feel comfortable, informed, and supported.
A: The first session is focused on getting to know you—not judging you or rushing to “fix” anything. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what’s been weighing on you, and what you’re hoping for. You don’t have to have the right words or a clear plan—we’ll figure that out together.
A: Sessions are typically 50–55 minutes. The overall length of therapy depends on your goals—some people come for short-term support around a specific issue, while others choose longer-term work for deeper patterns. We’ll regularly check in to make sure therapy is still useful and aligned with what you need.
A: That’s completely normal. Most people feel some level of hesitation at first. You don’t have to be fully ready or confident—just willing to show up. We go at your pace, and you’re always in control of what you share.
A: That’s very common. You’re not expected to come in with everything figured out. If you’re unsure where to start, we’ll guide the conversation. Sometimes we begin with what your day-to-day looks like, what’s been on your mind, or even what led you to schedule the appointment. There’s no “right” way to do therapy.
A: Progress doesn’t always mean feeling better right away. It can look like increased awareness, handling situations differently, or feeling more in control of your reactions. We track progress together and adjust as needed so therapy stays effective.
We accept a number of insurance plans and also offer private pay options. For specific coverage or deductible questions, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly, as plans can vary.
Yes, we offer telehealth sessions for clients who prefer to meet virtually. Many clients choose a mix of in-person and online appointments depending on their schedule and needs.
A: Yes, with very few legal exceptions (such as safety concerns involving harm to yourself, others, or abuse of a minor/vulnerable adult). We’ll go over these limits together so you know exactly what to expect.
A: No. You decide what you share and when. Therapy isn’t about forcing anything—it’s about building enough comfort and trust that talking becomes easier over time.
